Sunday Social

Now that I find myself with more time on my hands, for the moment, I thought I'd try to get back into blogging and maybe even get some organization going with this little online place. I'm not talking massive overhaul or anything like that - I'm quite happy with the looks of my page. But I want to get back to having things to talk about, even if it's just a ramble post.

So, to kind of kick-start my week, here's a link up hosted by Neely, over at A Complete Waste of Makeup, and Ashley at Ashely Lately.

Sunday Social

1. What is your all-time favorite song?
Broken by Seether feat Amy Lee. And it HAS TO BE this version. No other version he does...this one only! I don't know why, but this version is amazing (to me)!

2. Who is your favorite singer/band?
3 Doors Down and Third Day. I think I have all of their albums:  I can only say that about these two bands.

3. What song reminds you of your childhood?
Anything by DC Talk, especially from their Free At Last album.

4. What songs put you in a good mood?
Lately, it's been Remix by New Kids on the Block. I am in love with this song!!

5. What is your music to rock out to in your car?
See #4! I also like to dance in my car to just about any song with a great beat:  LMFAO, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, P!nk, Fall Out Boy...the list is an eclectic one!

6. What is your most embarrassing album or song you own?
I don't know that there are any, that I can think of. There are, however, a handful of songs I wouldn't play around my mom! For example:  Get Low by Lil John & The East Side Boys  & Ying Yang Twins. Or Candy Shop by 50 Cent & Olivia. But they're great dance-in-your-car songs!

And there you have it...info on the music that fills my days.

Sunday Social - Week 13

Today is

Sunday Social

Here are this week's questions:
1.  What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?
Hubs got a couple days off the weekend of my birthday and went to Arizona with me to see my parents. That's a 8 hour drive one way, folks! And he is not a road trip aficionado! He loves me!!

2.  Favorite look of the summer?
I loved all the bold colors that came out. Was not a fan of the many, many, MANY sleeveless tops I found. I need work shirts, people. And a summer sleeveless means an extra layer to keep it professional...and that means a rise in body temperature, sweat, and an all around uckie feeling! But the colors were cute!

3.  What is one thing you wish you had gotten to do?
Hang out by the pool more...white girl is WHITE (as in, put those sun glasses on folks). And hang with my brother in law (he passed a month ago). You never know how much time you really have and how much you've missed until you can't do it anymore.

4.  Favorite song(s) of the summer?

and

*disclaimer - not a fan of the dancing girls as I didn't expect them to be dressed that way (hello, it's country music, not rap)...but I still LOVE this song!*

5.  Favorite movie/TV show of the summer?
     Movie:  Brave & Avengers
     TV Show:  Army Wives

Stay tuned for next week's questions. They'll be about this here blog you're reading!

Happy Sunday, y'all!

Sunday Social - Week 10

I've joined up with Neely again for

Sunday Social

Here are this week's questions (all about food!!):

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
On the assumption that since it's the only thing I'll ever eat again, it must lose all it's calories/fat/carbs/any other bad stuff - Chocolate cake

What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Ice cream - preferably chocolate or vanilla with chocolate swirled in

What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
bacon and lime sherbert - it was actually pretty good

What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Hot dogs, macaroni & cheese, and green beans. That combination was my favorite meal as kid. When mom would do meal planning, this was on the menu at least once a week.

Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
I don't know that I have a favorite recipe that I make. I'm not much of a cook and all my baking is done via boxed cakes/cookies or straight from the recipe. But any type of baking brings memories of baking with my mom as a kid, especially at Christmas. We would make at least 5 types of cookies, plus fudge, chex mix, and a couple pies.

Now it's your turn. Join up with Neely and the rest of us Sunday Socialites. You just might meet a new blog friend!

Sunday Social - Week 9

Once again, I'm joining this link up this week:

Sunday Social

Here are this week's questions.....

1.  What is your favorite Fall activity?
  * Watching football, college or NFL, with my husband!

2.  Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?
   * I am a Florida Gator girl and I have been since I was little. It started as a way to goad my uncle, who is an FSU fan as they are state rivals in Florida, where I was born and raised. And then it just kind of stuck through the years.

3.  What is something fun about Fall in your area?
   * Mr S and I are huge Disneyland/California Adventure junkies (we have season passes). It's fun to see all the characters dressed for Halloween, and the Disney Villians are out more during the Fall months too.

4.  Fav Fall outfit staples?
   * The usual: Jeans. But for Fall I typically add a hoodie/pullover sweatshirt of some kind or a big comfy sweater. This year I finally have a pair of cowboy boots, so I see myself in those quite a bit in the coming months.

5.  Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall Season?
   * Well, November is our anniversary month and we will be celebrating one year as a married couple. So, that's big. But nothing else exciting that I can think of yet.

6.  Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?
  * Halloween - I like all the costumes that are new each year and the creative ways some parents and kids do their costumes. No traditions in place, yet, though.

Now it's your turn. Come link up with the rest of us and maybe find some new blog friends.

Social Sunday - Week 7

Here is my second attempt at being consistent with this new link up. In my defense, I kind of had a crazy last two weeks.

Sunday Social

Anywho....here are this week's questions and answers:

1. What is your dream job?
     * Stay at home wife (mom when the time comes) and/or photographer*

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
*Photography. Or open a Hallmark Store in my parents town and let them run it (seriously, there is no Hallmark in Cottonwood/Sedona/Flagstaff, Arizona. There is, however, one in Prescott)

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
*I don't remember wanting to be any one thing specifically. I remember wanting to be a nurse or teacher at some point, but that's it.*
4. What piece career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
*Don't throw away any emails/receipts/business cards!! You will definitely need them when you don't think you will. (I currently travel for work)*

5. Biggest Pet Peeves either in life or in blogging or at work
*Inconsiderate people, as a whole, annoy the crap out me! When someone takes up two parking spots because they're in a hurry. People who stop in the middle of the main walkway causing a pile up behind them. People who meander slowly down the sidewalk/aisle taking the whole space and don't get out of the way for those who walk with purpose. (all these I deal with in airports, mostly.)*

6. Biggest Fears
*That I won't be a good mom when the time comes. That I've missed my chance to be a mom.*

Now that I've shared my heart, come join up with the rest of us. Make some new friends. Who know who you might meet!

Peace out...
   (yes...I went there)

Sunday Social

While I really don't think I have a whole lot of important things to say, I still like to see my "followers" number grow (hooray for the 11 that are currently there...I love you!!). I mean, I follow about 20 or so blogs, so it's nice to know someone out there is "listening" to what I have to say.

So, in a very selfish attempt to increase my following (because, just maybe, I might impact someone's life here), I'm going to start joining a new link up on Sundays:

Sunday Social

It seems easy enough - just answer a few questions and link. So here goes with the questions for this week!

What is your favorite store to shop at?
That's a bit of a toughie right now.  See, I'm about 2 sizes larger than where I should be (4 from where I'd like to be). But if I were 2 sizes smaller:  New York & Company or Macy's.

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
Coach. I'd have one for every day of the week! And Calvin Klein clothes. I love the classic look of his brand! They are clothes that, for the most part, will never go out of style.

Must have closet staple?
Black dress pants and black flats (work clothes) or blue jeans and black flip flops (homebody clothes)

Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)
I actually prefer barefoot. But if I'm chilling in town, it's usually flip flops. Not really too brand specific on shoes.

Best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sales or amazing finds)
Can't really think of any. I'm not really a smart shopper. I go get what I need, regardless of sale or price, and that's it. Don't get me wrong, I love to shop. But I don't usually pay attention to the sale prices or bargain bins (as I'm not really good at finding anything there).

Style you'd love to try?
Hmm...not really sure on that one. Being a plus size limits me on the latest "fashion" trends, but right now I'm ok with that. However, I wouldn't mind giving skinny jeans a try (just to say I could/did) or a bikini.  If there were a brand, I'd go with Calvin Klein. I love the classic-ness of his brand. But, again, it's hard to find them in plus size and they retain the original look.

Come link up and "meet" some great new people!
