So What Wednesday

It's time for

Head on over and link up with the rest of us!

So What If:

* I skipped yesterday's Tuesday's Traveler post. It's not that I've run out of things to say, honestly...I have plenty of travel stories. I just had too much going on. I think it's time to pre-post that one and set it to "appear" on your reading list on Tuesdays.

* I am trying to avoid work today. But I really can't as I have too much to do before I head out of town again on Monday.

* I didn't start cooking dinner till 9:30 last night (Mr S comes home at 10:30-ish). That also means I didn't "clean" the kitchen till about 10 last night either.

* I waited till last minute to do my assignments last night (hence the late dinner). And I still didn't do all of them!! I have another one to turn in tonight.

* I have horrible time-management skills when it comes to school. I have AMAZING intentions of staying on track and getting things done when they need to be. But it just doesn't happen. I need to find a place to do my school work that isn't my office, the living room couch, or the bedroom. Kitchen table, anyone?

* I have never been more excited about going to the doctor than I am today. It's just the chiropractor, but this man is working magic on my back...and today, I need that.

* The baby-fever I mentioned last week has flown the coop. I kind of figured it would, and I am totally okay with that!

* I'm thinking of being irresponsible with my 2nd pay check this month (I get 3 this month). My original plan was to make some massive debt payments as I'll have the extra money. But I'm leaning towards a wardrobe refurbish couple items for my side of the closet. I just can't decide what to do!!

Well, that's all I've got for this week. Happy Hump Day!!

Monday Musings

I really can't believe that it is already August. Where does the time go so quickly? July was such a crazily unexpected disappointing blur.

Today is the three week mark of my Brother-In-Law's completely unexpected passing. Tomorrow will be two weeks since we buried him. I still can't really believe he's gone. I know it's been especially hard on Mr S. They had such a unique bond as brothers. There is a void in the family now that will never be filled.

I'm revisiting the idea, for about the millionth time this year, of starting my own home-distribution business. A close friend of mine sells Scentsy. As many of you may, or may not, have heard, they have launched a jewelry/purse/accessory line:  Grace Adele. That is what I'm thinking about doing. I was actually looking at doing Scentsy at the beginning of the year, then two (yeah, TWO) of my girlfriends started up within a week of each other. Well, there went my initial target audience. So I've had to change my tune a bit. I've looked at different jewelry lines, but never really made a decision. And I want to do something that my friends will buy, so it can't be too expensive. Well, I think I've found that lovely piece of middle ground with Grace Adele. I'll keep you posted on how this goes! Of course, if I do decide to sell, you'll know...it'll be all over this little blog of mine!

Well, I thought I had more to write about today, but I guess not. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Have a wonderful week!

Sunday Social - Week 9

Once again, I'm joining this link up this week:

Sunday Social

Here are this week's questions.....

1.  What is your favorite Fall activity?
  * Watching football, college or NFL, with my husband!

2.  Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?
   * I am a Florida Gator girl and I have been since I was little. It started as a way to goad my uncle, who is an FSU fan as they are state rivals in Florida, where I was born and raised. And then it just kind of stuck through the years.

3.  What is something fun about Fall in your area?
   * Mr S and I are huge Disneyland/California Adventure junkies (we have season passes). It's fun to see all the characters dressed for Halloween, and the Disney Villians are out more during the Fall months too.

4.  Fav Fall outfit staples?
   * The usual: Jeans. But for Fall I typically add a hoodie/pullover sweatshirt of some kind or a big comfy sweater. This year I finally have a pair of cowboy boots, so I see myself in those quite a bit in the coming months.

5.  Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall Season?
   * Well, November is our anniversary month and we will be celebrating one year as a married couple. So, that's big. But nothing else exciting that I can think of yet.

6.  Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?
  * Halloween - I like all the costumes that are new each year and the creative ways some parents and kids do their costumes. No traditions in place, yet, though.

Now it's your turn. Come link up with the rest of us and maybe find some new blog friends.

Later...

Nail Files - Week 31

I'm going to keep it simple this week:

Sinful Colors - Nirvana

Unfortunately, i wasn't completely dry from my topcoat when I went to bed after doing my nails Wednesday night, so they ALL have sheet marks on them...oh well! I like this color enough to not really care about the smudges.

Come on over the link up party and share what your nails look like this week!

Friday's Letters - the first for me

I've toyed with joining this link up for a while. Mainly because I already do a Friday link up. But more and more each day/week I find myself "writing" letters in my head throughout the days. So I figured, why not?!

Dear designers,
Thank you for the lovely clothes each season. I realize the purpose of summer fashion is to keep cool, but could we tone down the sleeveless tops? Don't get me wrong, I love a sleeveless on a hot day even if I don't have toned arms. But I'm looking at work clothes and they're just not cutting it on a professional level. Sleeveless dress tops mean I have to add another layer, which defeats the purpose of the coolness of the summer clothes line.

Dear stores whose clothes I love (Target & Kohl's),
Can we work on the Women's selection, please? You have some great clothes and a HUGE selection of misses or juniors. But your Women's (AKA Plus) is lacking on so many levels.

Dear people who decide what's in for fashion every year,
Thanks for FINALLY making teal an "in" color. Why couldn't you have done this 8 1/2 months ago when I was planning the wedding of my dreams...in teal?!

Dear UPS,
Please train your new guys a little better! Due to lack of training/preparing on your part, a VIP (very important package) wasn't delivered yesterday like it was supposed to be. And it almost wasn't delivered today. Had it not been delivered today, I would have had to bail my husband out for damage to UPS property the next time he saw brown. This week, Brown did nothing for us!

Dear Brianna at UPS,
THANK YOU!!!! You saved the life of one of your drivers.

Dear husband,
I love you! And your child-like excitement for your birthday present. I'm sorry it didn't come yesterday like it was supposed to, but I'm glad you have it now.

Have a happy weekend, all!

Thursday's Through The Lense - The Month of July

There haven't been many pictures taken this month. I opted to not do the Photo A Day Challenge, hosted by FatMumSlim this month. The main reason is because I was 8 days in when I realized I'd not done any and I didn't feel like trying to play catch up. But I'm planning to join in for August. Here's the list. I haven't decided yet, but I may post my weekly pictures here. Otherwise, if you have Instagram, you can follow me and see my pictures there ringsgal.

On to this week's pictures. Here's a review of some of my better pictures from the month of July:

A bridge along the drive from Reno to Carson City

View from my hotel in Carson City (setting in my rental to take the picture)

One of the buildings in Virginia City, NV (edited with Snapseed app on iPhone)

Message on the balloons from the kids at the Boys & Girls Club

The balloons released

My husband fighting with his little brother and sister over the remote

 My first Angels Game!

Not bad seats...too bad they lost!

Enjoy!

So What Wednesday

I'm linking up again!!  This time it's with Shannon over at Life After I "Dew" for

This week, I'm saying So What If:

* It was very hard to leave this week. Harder than usual.

* I'm afraid I'm catching baby fever. My husband isn't overly thrilled, and neither am I, to be honest. Do I want to be a mom - ABSOLUTELY!! Just right now! Good thing we're taking preventative measures...and good thing we've already talked about this. I just need a baby to hold to get my fix, that's all.

* I took two one-week extensions on my last class (due to family tragedy) and still only turned in a partial paper. It's been a bit crazy the past two weeks.

* My new class starts today. I'm in Washington; my text book is in California. See the problem?

* I reported a twitter account of someone (I have no idea who they are) because they sent me an environmental tweet in reply to a picture I posted. Story Time:  The Boys & Girls Club my brother-in-law worked at before he passed two weeks ago (family tragedy I speak of) did a balloon release in his honor for the kids/staff that attend who loved my BIL. I took some pictures with my phone and tweeted one of them as my account is linked to family and friends who couldn't be there. This was Friday, the 20th. I just noticed Saturday night that this guy (WHO ISN'T EVEN IN THE UNITED STATES) replied with the environmental tweet. Now, before I reported him, I wanted to make sure he wasn't some spam-bot or whatever. No, he has a legitimate twitter account...but he trolls the twitter-verse in search of key words/phrases, like "balloon release", and proceeds to tweet to the original poster how "balloons (even synthetic) are harmful" with some link as his proof. I was pissed. So I reported him for spam and he is now blocked. Jerk!!

* I didn't capitalize Twitter in the previous paragraph!  I don't feel like going back to deal with it right now.

* I'm still not ready to head out for the day. I had a video meeting that just ended and I still haven't eaten breakfast yet. And I have to pack my stuff up as I'm changing hotels tonight. Good thing it's a "light" day today!

Well, that's all I've got for now....and I need to get on with my day. What are you saying "So What" to this week?
