Thursday's Through the Lense

My latest obsession:

Coach!!! I've always been enamored by all things Coach, especially last year when they launced some really gorgeous purple plaids in their Poppy line. And my wonderful fiance' is kindly fueling the fire...like buying me this AMAZING Poppy Dream C Wallet for a welcome home gift last week!! There are other pieces, like purses and such, that are in the Dream C design too. But I'm not sure how well a cream/ivory fabric will keep clean with my current crazy travel schedule. So I am perfectly happy to have the lovely wallet residing in my Christmas present (Coach purse!). :)

Friday Fill-Ins

Well, it's been a while since I've done one of these, so here we go:

1. Why does it have to rain on my weekend home?

2. The effort you put into the job is equal to the accomplishment felt at the end.

3. My favorite breakfast includes COFFEE!!!

4. Private by James Patterson was the last book I read this week.

5. I am SO glad to be home!!

6. Food, or a massage, would make me feel better right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, tomorrow my plans include a manicure and relaxing and Sunday, I want to go to church and get the laundry done!

In other news

So I've been in a bit of a book slump this month. I guess reading eleven books in one month will do that for ya. It's not like I don't have anything to read!! I started two books after number 11 last month, but they kind of went no where. And it's not that they weren't interesting...it just wasn't happening. But, thanks to the purchase of a new book, I think I'm back in the "game". I got Private, by James Patterson, yesterday in the airport. It intrigued me and so I thought I'd try it. Maybe because it's fairly easy reading, maybe because it doesn't require a lot of thought to follow the story, or maybe because I'm a bit bore in Indy...I finished it about an hour ago. It's 400 pages. And, thanks to a Borders around the corner from the hotel closing, I also have four new books (to add to the 5-7 at home) to read!

Confession: I dropped my Social Psychology course the other day. I turned in my first three assignments (of 8) three days late (each) and two weren't even completed. There really wasn't any way I was pulling that grade out of the dumpster it took a dive into. And, after finding out I made a D on the last two, I figured it was best this term. I'm in Indy this week, DC next, and two weeks after that I'll be in Atlanta. That's three out of four weeks I'm gone...where am I going to find the time to read 2 chapters a week, do a 64 question quiz, and pull a 4-7 page paper out of no where?? Yeah...so that's why I dropped it. I'm not happy about it, but at least it won't affect my already dying GPA.

Speaking of being gone three of the next four weeks...how is one supposed to plan a wedding when one travels for work??? If we take an October date (which is what I'm hoping for), that give me at least six full months to plan...so about 24 weeks. Of those 24 weeks, I will be out of town for 9 of them. That's really not a lot and I know it can be done. But it stresses me out more than just a little bit. I have four bridal/wedding magazines (obsession) and a wedding book I just bought (about planning a dream wedding for $5 grand or less). I'm looking forward to delving into that one. :)

Speaking of traveling...any idea how hard it is to eat right when you're on the go?!? I think I'm going to have start packing food in my suitcase! Maybe our hotel in DC will have a fridge in the room and I'll stock up some fruits or something.

I HAVE A FIANCE'!!!! :)

Thursday's Thru the Lense

This is a special edition of Thursday's Thru the Lense.

First, the picture:

And now the story...hold on folks, it's a little long.

We planned a trip to Disneyland because our friends would be there with their son for his first visit. As we were leaving the apartment for breakfast, Stephen ran back upstairs to "take a Zyrtec". I waited in the car thinking it doesn't take 10 minutes to take a pill. (Back story here: I found the ring a this past Friday in our black box of momentos when I went to put tickets to a musical we went to in there.) So I know he's getting the ring and when he comes back down I'm looking at his pockets to see if its there. Well, there's no markings that indicate a box or ring are there, but it looks like crumpled tissue in his pocket...so I figured he'd wrapped it in a tissue. He gave some excuse about dropping the pill and not being able to find it for why it took so long. Whatever...

After breakfast we head on our way and meet Keri, Kevin, & Kaden inside Disneyland. We wandered a bit, then road Peter Pan, then wandered some more. As we were making our way back to Main Street, we heard the Mary Poppins band playing and saw Mary Poppins and Bert dancing so we went to watch. We had tried for pictures earlier (Kaden's first time) but it was too crowded so we decided to try it after the singing and dancing was done. So I take their camera and take some great pictures of the three of them. Then we trade places. Keri was our wonderful photographer. She took a couple of normal shots then told us to take a couple funny shots. So we're joking around then all the sudden Stephen says, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you". He pulls the ring out of his pocket and gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him!

I have to admit, aside from the "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" I have no idea what else he said! LOL!! I started to cry, people started applauding and saying "he's proposing" and all I could see was him on one knee. It was perfect!!

And this little figure is something I collect from our trips. They're called Vinylmation and it's become a bit of an obsession for me. This particular one has Cinderella's Castle on the back, and it's a chaser to the Cutesters series (chasers are rare bonus figures). It was like the perfect ending to the perfect day and I just had to capture it on film. :)

And here we are after the proposal:

*so happy!!!

Thursday's Thru the Lense

The first installment of my new weekly series!! :)

HOORAY!!! This is one of my favorite places to go with Mr. S. It's one of the places he took me when we first started dating because I'd never been. I have a picture very similar to this from our first time there together...only the flowers are yellow! And...to make it even better...they're TULIPS!!! (my fav flower)

Anyway...there you have it! :)

Weekend Update

I was doing so good the last two months making an effort and actually posting at decent intervals. And then work blew up (aka everyone came to SoCal for a conference) and I got super busy (not to mention my work laptop is a POS). But I'm back now and will be making a few changes to some of the things I post.

No more Sunday Meme (not like I've done one in a month or anything). I just don't have the time to fill those out when I get on here sometimes. I like quick and easy...for the most part.

Starting a new weekly blog, though...either on Tuesdays or Thursdays: Tuesday's (Thursday's) Through the Lens. I'll be posting a picture once a week on whatever day I decide to do it on...seriously leaning towards Thurs as the next two Tues I'll be in the wonderful world of Disneyland! Anyway...the picture will, more than likely, be of my own taking and I'll include a little description if one is needed and, quite possibly, when/where it was taken if it's not a recent picture.

And that's really all the changes so far.

In other news....I realized why I went crazy with the book reading last month...because I knew I'd not get many in this month. It's already 5 days into March and I've not touched a book (other than my Social Psychology book) other than to move it from one place to another.

And...well, that's really it for now.

Hugs...

Friday Fill-Ins!

It's a day late...but here's this weekend's installment of:

1. Bring your favorite PJs whenever you go on a trip...that way you feel a little like you're at home.

2. Unfortunately, calories are included in all the meals I'll be eating today.

3. Just about anything chocolate is exactly what I need to get through a typical work day...that and coffee.

4. Well, you see, what happened was....HA!!!!.

5. Wish I could see some bling soon!

6. But what if it rains on Tuesday? Well, we will just go anyway!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to being home and doing nothing, tomorrow my plans include house & school work (and probably some regular work I didn't do yesterday) and Sunday, I want to go to church, read a book, and organize my office!
